Honestly this is one of the best Portrait photos I've seen on DA. The colors are vivid and the soft effect is nice. Composition leads you to the subject matter and both the model and setting are just plain incredible. Nice work! Really impressive stuff. My thing to nit pick at is what looks like a glow around her. almost as if the dodging was too wide. You can see it on the building. But again, near perfection and I absolutely love it along with the rest of your work. This may be the best one yet. Keep doing what you're doing!

I must admit its a grand photo, but maybe alittle too much on the airbrushing on her side and back? You can see her skin is edited to look better yet natural at the same time. (just making observation)

Nice work Tim. Please did you do compositing

No compositing, just color manipulation in the back ground.

amazing photo/artwork.  I use to live in that building - our view was the same direction as this shot.  we moved about one block away, but the view now is not nearly as nice... btw, i like the touch of red.

Thank you, it's a shame we didn't meet while you were living in the Strata. I moved out of downtown a few weeks ago.

This is a very lovely shot. The coloring is nice and smooth. easy on the eyes. :)

Love the shot Tim.

The splash of red bottom right is a bit distracting.
Also putting yourself in the shot in the ball is funny. Not an issue for the shot, just it is a bit like breaking the 4th wall in video. Generally not done unless you intend it to add to the picture.

Model is fantastic. I love the contrast between her colour and shape and the background colour and shape. Brown vs green and curves vs straight lines.

She isn't centred, but she also isn't very off centre. I think if this were my shot I'd either crop to put her squarely in the middle, or crop out some of the right hand side of the picture and see how it looks.

Great job though. Love it. Never sure why you don't have more watchers and the like. DA is such an odd place.

You always hit on the same things that somewhat concern me. I gave a lot of thought to getting rid of that red pillow, I might just go ahead and see what it looks like with out it. If it is a drastic change I will replace it on here.

I tried cropping the photo in a few way, but ended up just taking a bit off the top. The way the buildings look to the right seemed to add a bit more Depth to the photo and the San Diego bay to the left side always makes for a nice view.

I guess I could get rid of the white socks I was wearing. That would probably draw a bit less attention to me in the ball. But I honestly didn't think anyone would notice. I have to remember that you have a spectacular eye for detail.

And as always, thank you for commenting on my photos, it is really appreciated to get responses on my work. I have been on Deviant art for about 10 years and as a premium member the whole time. So I don't know why I don't have more followers. Like you said DA is an odd place...

I like the green on both sides because it feels like a nice big green frame. But she is so close to being in the centre that with the ball and her I would put her in the centre or not at all. So try cropping off a little on the left perhaps. I don't think losing a bit of sky and some plant will detract from the image.

And I guess I saw you in the ball because you are a black dot against a white building and the ball is such a cool prop that one can't help but look at it. It's a shame there isn't more of her legs so that you could put the ball exactly in the centre of the image.

The positive of the red in the corner is that it draws ones eye to your name. I don't think that is a bad thing. And perhaps it contrasts with the green of the background. I just don't know if it adds to the image since the lovely lady in the middle seems to be the main attraction.

Re having viewers, I know that my commentary and critiques of other people's work have drawn them to mine. I don't know how active you are on DA, but I know that is what happened for me. I don't upload much though. I have thousands of images just like you probably do and I none will ever sell on DA so I financially there's no benefit.

But some feedback is definitely useful.

Cheers, Darren.
